ABOUT ASIF ANWAR
Asif Anwar has been in legal practice for more than two decades. Asif innovative and successful legal experience cultivated a unique and extensive skill set that includes high level and focused attributes. Asif completed his law degree in Pakistan and started his legal practice with Corporate Law Associates (CLA), Lahore, Pakistan.
In 2001, Asif did Master of Laws from Bond University Australia and rejoined CLA, as Partner. During his association with CLA, Asif has practiced in wide range of legal areas like Corporate, Commercial, Banking, IPR Laws, IT Services, Immigration, and Family Laws. Asif extended advocacy, consultancy and legal services to individuals, proprietorships, partnerships, banks, multi national companies and foreign embassies. Asif has negotiated and drafted various agreements including but not limited to business agreements, technology and software services, licensing and distribution agreements. Asif rendered consultancy service in jurisdiction and choice of law Issues, technology transfer, trademarks, domain names, brand protection and intellectual property protection strategies and enforcement of rights.
After moving to Toronto Canada and completing all law society’s licensing requirements and exams, started working in Canada. Before starting ILM Law, Asif has worked at a top law firm based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. During his employment with the firm, Asif was involved and participated in court case management conferences, settlement discussions, court mediations & arbitrations in Civil and Family matters, prepared and drafted various court documents, and arbitration/mediation briefs. Asif has identified and prepared documents and submissions for various programs and categories in immigration matters. Asif has also drafted correspondences, agreements, wills, GPAs, SPAs and commercial real estate closing documents and agendas.
